ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CUSTOMER SUPPLIED PARTS
What file types do you accept?

We accept a few file types. Files submitted in .dxf, .dwg or .sldprt format are preferred. We do accept .jpeg or .png files but these will require design work to get them prepared to cut and that will result in additional costs.
Can you help me design my idea for a part?

Yes, and we would be happy to. Consultations are always free, however we do charge for design time. Design cost will vary based upon the complexity of your design and how much information you bring to the table to begin with (i.e. material type, dimensions, etc.).
How long will it take to receive my parts?

We have a knack for shipping quickly! Parts typically ship out in 3 business days, however depending on the size of the run it could take up to 7 business days.
Do you offer rush shipping?

Yes. We can upgrade your order to rush shipping for an additional cost. This will fast track your order to the top of our list. Please note, we can only upgrade your order to rush delivery if we have enough material on hand to fulfill the order.
What is the thickest material you can cut?

Carbon Steel: 0.50 inches (12.7mm)

Aluminum: 0.1875 inches (4.7625mm)

Stainless Steel: 0.25 inches (6.35 mm)
What will the surface of my part/parts look like?

The surface of your part(s) will be the same as it comes from the mill. This means you can expect small scratches from time to time. Depending on the material that you choose, the mill scale will be more or less. Check out our materials page to see examples of what you can expect.
Do you offer any secondary operations to get my part closer to a finished product?

We offer surface grinding, sandblasting, welding, and powder coating services for additional costs.
How can I save on shipping costs?

Let's face it, shipping steel doesn’t come cheap. We guarantee we will ship it as safe and economically as we can. If that just isn’t cutting it, we offer free local pick up at our facility.
CUSTOM SIGN CREATION
Can you make me a sign that I don’t see in your store?

Absolutely and we would be happy to! Consultations are always free, however we do charge for design time on top of the production. Design cost will vary based upon the complexity of your design and how much information you bring to the table to begin with (i.e. workability of images, dimensions, etc.).
Can I choose a color that you do not have listed in your color choices?

Generally speaking, we powder coat with the colors you see in our store. If we are designing a custom piece for you (not including our “customizable” designs) we can powder coat any color you like. Then again, if you bend our arm hard enough and you're willing to ante up a bit we could probably make something happen. If you’ve got a hankering for something different, give us a call.
I don’t see mounting holes in the design I am interested in. How would I hang it?

We design a lot of our signs to hang on small brad nails that can easily be placed in any of the many corners. Signs that don’t fit that bill or are heavier will have mounting holes integrated into their design.
Is rush delivery an option?

Yes and sorta. Yes we can rush stock items for an additional cost and it's sorta on custom items. Custom items take design time. If you need what we have and you want it fast, your best bet is to call us so we can talk about it.
Can I cancel my custom order?

A custom order can be canceled up to production time. For customizable items on our website you have 24 hours to cancel your order. After that time we will not issue refunds
Can I receive a refund on my custom order?

When custom orders are placed we will create it for you and send you a design proof to look over. At that point we ask you to review the design and verify things like sizing and spelling. Once you give us the ok for production we will send you an invoice for payment. If you are not happy, do not pay us. After we receive payment we begin the production of your custom product. It is at this time that we no longer issue refunds.
SHOOTING TARGETS
Do you warranty your products?

Yes. We warranty all of our shooting products for manufacturer defects from 1 year of the date of purchase. We will ask you to provide explicit proof of the defect for evaluation and product improvement reasons. We do not warrant our products from misuse or abuse. If you follow our product recommendations and something breaks, we’ll have your back. Now, say your buddy decides to blast a ¼” thick target with a magnum rifle round from 20 yards and blows the thing apart ... that's a different story. Trust us when we say, we can tell the difference.
P.S. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE DOES THAT FOR THEIR OWN AND OTHERS SAFETY.
What thickness steel target should I purchase?

It all depends on what caliber round you would like to shoot at it. Refer to our Safety Guidelines document for help making your decision.
Is it possible for a bullet to ricochet off the target?

Yes it is possible, but generally speaking the bullet fragments will ricochet down at an angle if hung with our hanging systems. Please refer to our Safety Guidelines document to help lessen the possibility of the chance of this happening.
Is AR500 steel the same as mild steel?

AR500 contains a higher concentration of carbon than mild steel, which gives it a quality that makes it a desirable choice for shooting targets. Shooting targets made of mild steel can work adequately for low caliber rounds, but will tear apart quickly with common shooting rounds (9mm, .45, .223/5.56).
Can you make me a custom shaped target that I don’t see in your store?

Absolutely and we would be happy to! Consultations are always free, however we do charge for design time on top of the production. Design cost will vary based upon the complexity of your design and how much information you bring to the table to begin with (i.e. workability of images, dimensions, etc.).

Do you offer discounts for Military, Law Enforcement Officers, and First Responders?

Yes. If you email us proof of past or present service we will happily email you a coupon code as a small token for our gratitude for your service.
Do your steel targets ring when hit?

Yes. How loud of a sound it makes varies from design to design. Where the target is hit and what caliber round is striking it will also affect the sound level. In general, larger and thinner targets ring the loudest.
Can I paint over the powder coating?

Yes, and it is not a bad way of refreshing and protecting your investment. A regular old rattle can will do the job of changing the color of our targets. How long that paint stays on will vary depending on the quality and amount of paint that is applied.
FIRE BOXES
Can you make me a fire box design that I don’t see in your store?

Will the fire box rust?

Yes, but don’t worry as they look great with a rusted patina on them. The rust layer will be very slight and your firebox will last many years to come!
Why do other companies sell fire boxes the same size for cheaper?

Most companies with cheap fire rings or fire boxes offer them up in thin gauge sheet steel. Our fire boxes are made from heavy duty 3/16” thick steel and will not burn through like the cheaper/thinner models sold elsewhere.
Why is local pick up only for a welded fire box the only option?

Welded fire boxes are large and need to be shipped on a pallet via common carrier. Shipping this way is expensive and we found it blows the budget for most customers. If you live in our neck of the woods but don't have a way to transport a fire box to your place give us a call to see if we can work something out with you.
